Boxing, live entertainment headliners and special events may have a new place to call home. The MGM Resorts International would like to build a 20,000-seat indoor arena with their partner AEG, a preeminent sports and entertainment promoter company. AEG is well known for their help in the development of the Best Buy Theater in Time Square, Staples Center, Home Depot Center, and many more around the world. MGM Resorts Chairman and CEO Jim Murren said, “This new facility would be an extension of our entertainment legacy and continue our leadership position in the worlds of boxing, sports, concerts and other events that drive significant visitation and revenue to Las Vegas. AEG’s dominant position in arena development, programming and management, makes it an ideal partner for this venture.” This partnership seems like a win, win situation for both parties.
