Michael Jackson ONE will officially premiere June 29 at Mandalay Bay with previews starting May 23. New shows are always a tricky task to convey. Daniel Lamarre, Cirque du Soleil President and CEO, knows firsthand how each new show is a big gamble, challenge, and risk. With each new show, come higher expectations. The public loves to see what new things the next show came up with and expects there to be more wild and crazy effects than the shows prior. Lamarre likes to hear what the cab drivers think of their shows, along with concierges, and the public. They make the success of the shows and word of mouth is a key in success. Cirque du Soleil never relies on a past show to bring in an audience, they treat every show as if it were their first. With a show like “One”, they do not want to rely on the fame of Michael Jackson or past shows to bring in customers, they want to build this one like it was their first production. “One” will have a different environment then some of the other theatres, with the newest sound and technology systems, the audience will be able to experience Michael’s music like never before.
